Gaston Glock was born on July 19th, 1929, in Vienna, Austria. He started his career as a knives and curtain rods manufacturer. He has become an expert in polymers during the years. Glock manufactured components for the Austrian army on an injection-molding machine which he bought in 1980.
In April 1981, Glock applied for a patent for his first design, the Glock 17. He was married to Helga Glock from 1962 to 2011, the couple had three children together. Soon after the divorce, lock married much younger Kathrin Tschikof, one of his former nurses. He had a stroke in 2008 and in 2012.
Glock is not only a famous for his business but also very wealthy and generous. He has donated more than million euros to different charities. In 1999, Gaston Glock was victim of a murder attempt.
