Jason Atherton was born on September 6th, 1971, in Sheffield, United Kingdom. When he was sixteen, he ran away to London. Atherton worked with several great chefs, such as Marco Pierre White, Nico Ladenis, and Pierre Koffmann. In 2001, he started working as the executive chef in the Gordon Ramsay’s Verre in Dubai. Four years later, he opened Maze in the UK.
After working for Gordon Ramsay Holdings for nine years, Atherton decided it’s about time to launch his own business under the name The Social Company. In May 2010, he launched Table No. 1 in Shanghai. A year later, he opened Pollen Street Social which gained a Michelin Star in its opening year.
